Lollie Garay

Lollie Garay is a middle school science teacher at Redd School in Houston, Texas and joins as an active member of Dr Yager’s field research team through an NSF RET grant. Working with Dr. Yager as she studies the conditions that affect microbial communities and biogeochemical processes in diverse areas of the global ocean, Garay will work on translating her research into science content that can be used in the classroom. Her activities will include analyzing seawater samples for CO2 and measuring respiration rates, as well as documenting the ANACONDA project through an online blog. Garay and Yager previously worked together on the 2007 Oden Southern Ocean expedition.
